A More Balanced World

A More Balanced World is a nonprofit organization focused on expanding access to education for underserved students around the world. Its work spans multiple regions and initiatives, requiring a website that could communicate both mission and scale with clarity.

The challenge

The organization needed more than a simple nonprofit website. It needed a digital presence that could express credibility, compassion, and global reach without becoming cluttered or difficult to navigate. The challenge was to organize programs, stories, and calls to support in a way that felt clear, trustworthy, and emotionally grounded.

The solution

Olibro designed and developed a WordPress website that gives the organization a stronger digital foundation for storytelling, outreach, and long-term growth. We created a structure that supports mission-driven content, program visibility, and donor engagement while keeping the experience clean, intuitive, and easy to manage over time.

A More Balanced World is a US-based non-profit empowering students across Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Iran, India, and beyond — while also supporting housing- and food-insecure college students in California. We’ve been their digital partner since 2013.

The problem

AMBW arrived in 2013 as a young organisation with a powerful mission and almost no digital footprint. By 2020, the original single-page site couldn’t represent what AMBW had become — a multi-country operation supporting students across four continents, running annual fundraising, and managing partner programmes from Uganda to Cambodia. They needed a platform that matched the scope of the work, and a partner who’d still be there years later.

What we delivered

Three eras of work, one continuous relationship:

  • The original 2013 build. Logo, identity, and a single-page WordPress site that introduced AMBW to the world — followed by two years of managed hosting, security audits, and platform maintenance.
  • A full V2 redesign in 2020. Ground-up rebuild on a custom WordPress theme: 14 country pages across four continents, a custom student profile system with popup bios, a sponsor-a-student flow, seven forms (donation, volunteer, contact, sponsorship, three programme-specific), PayPal integration for one-time and recurring giving, and a documented style guide. Launched September 2020.
  • Continuous WebWork since 2022. 580+ tasks across content updates, partner additions (RubiKamp, Empathy Children Initiative, Namugga Mable Foundation), banner refreshes, mobile-layout fixes, the Beethoven server migration in November 2024, and an emergency revert of the donation system back to PayPal when an alternative processor failed mid-campaign.
  • An SEO programme with real teeth. Audit, GA4 migration, GTM-led analytics stack, robots.txt cleanup, H1 corrections, a documented keyword strategy — and Google Project Galileo enrolment for free DDoS protection on an at-risk civil-society site.

Why it matters

Thirteen years, five engagement phases, three server migrations, one full redesign, and an annual fundraising campaign that’s shipped on time every year. Mandy Fazeli has been a client and a friend since Olibro’s earliest days. We’ve watched AMBW grow from a single-page site into a 14-country global platform — and we’ve been proud to build and maintain the digital foundation that carries that work into the world.
